About The Coast Cafe
Coast Cafe offers fresh, locally inspired dishes in a laid-back Bolinas setting—simple, seasonal, and consistently good.
The Coast Cafe is a staple of Bolinas—serving fresh, seasonal dishes in a relaxed, coastal setting. Known for its thoughtful menu and local ingredients, it's the kind of place where great food and a laid-back atmosphere come together effortlessly.
Founded on October 18, 1998, with a vision to create a restaurant in harmony with the community and the belief that wonderful food does not have to come in a formal package and can be priced for everyone, the Coast Cafe has spent over two decades living up to exactly that promise. It is, in the truest sense of the phrase, a restaurant with a philosophy.
Farm to Table Before It Was Fashionable
The Coast Cafe serves Northern California cuisine using only the freshest ingredients, supporting sustainable farming methods, locally grown organic produce, locally harvested fish and shellfish, local organic dairy, and Bill Niman meats, using only natural oils. Soups and salads are built around vegetables from nearby Star Route Farms, and the fish on your plate may well have been pulled from the water just hours before you sat down. The fish of the day is frequently caught by a local fisherman the same morning it is served - a level of freshness that simply cannot be manufactured or imitated.
The Menu - Honest, Seasonal, and Deeply Satisfying
Pro Tip: Ask what was caught that morning and pair it with a local wine - if weather allows, take an outside table and stay through sunset.
