About Silver Peso
Silver Peso in Larkspur, CA
The Peso does not take reservations. It is a walk-in bar with cocktails, beer, pool, shuffleboard, pinball, and sports on the TVs. Food trucks show up some nights. The kitchen is not the point. The bar is.
What The Peso Is
The Silver Peso is a neighborhood dive that got a new chapter without becoming a concept bar. Max Perry and Conor Flaherty, the team behind Sam's Anchor Cafe in Tiburon, took over with Larkspur building owners Tommy and Shannon Lamanna after structural work following a 2025 car accident. They put in new flooring, bathrooms, tap lines, pool tables, shuffleboard, and TVs. They kept the open-beamed ceiling and the piano that is rumored to have been played by Janis Joplin.
What's On The Bar
Expect a shot-and-a-beer crowd and a real cocktail list. The house talks about a well-made Manhattan or margarita as easily as a cold pint. Fresh-fruit margaritas, negronis, and martinis show up on the chalkboard. Draft beer leans wider than the old Peso, with IPAs and easier kolsch-style pours in the mix.
There is no reservation book. There are bar games. Pool tables, shuffleboard, pinball, a jukebox, and enough screens to catch the game. That is the night, not a tasting menu.
Hours And How It Works
Walk in. Sit at the bar, claim a game, or stand where the room lets you. Weekend nights fill. Afternoon and early weeknights are the calmer version of the same bar.
What The Visit Is Like
Expect a dark, easy room with beams overhead, a piano in the mix, and people who already know each other. It can be a daytime pit stop or a 1:00 AM last call. Staff keep it neighborhood-first. First-timers get the games and the drinks. Regulars get the same, plus the sense that the Peso is still Larkspur's living room.
Why People Go
People come for a late Marin bar that still feels like a bar, for pool and shuffleboard, and for cocktails that are better than the dive-bar stereotype. They stay because the renovation did not sand off the Peso, and because downtown Larkspur does not have many rooms that run until 2:00 AM.
Who The Peso Is Best For
The Peso works especially well for Larkspur, Greenbrae, and Kentfield locals who want a neighborhood bar, groups who will play pool instead of waiting for a host, sports nights, and anyone who already ate at Left Bank or grabbed coffee at Equator on Magnolia. It is less ideal if you need a reservation, a full dinner menu, or a quiet date-night dining room.
Where It Fits In Your Larkspur Day
A simple Magnolia loop is Equator for coffee, Left Bank for dinner, then the Peso for drinks and a game. Gott's in Greenbrae covers a burger if you want food before you walk in. Weekend mornings open at 10:00 AM if you want a quieter first beer.
